This route leads us to go deeper into the towns of LLerena and Azuaga, both
have a rich historic-artistic heritage that invites to take a look at. Moreover,
we enjoy the visits to Regina's Roman Theatre or Jayona Mine.

If we are planning to visit the Jayone
Mine we should organize our journey depending on the opening hours. To
go there we have to ask for an appointment, the Fuente del Arco Council (924878001)
arranges the visits. These are guided visits depending on the number of people
who have asked for it.
We begin our trip in Granja de Torrehermosa,
we reached this town through N-432 Badajoz-Granada road, we will move up and
down this road. This town is thus called after de magnificient
Mudejar Tower in its church that worths the visit.
Our next stopover is Azuaga,
one of the most outstanding towns in the zone. There we enjoy the views from
Miramontes Castle, an arab origin fortress, it
was built by the Zuwaga, an Islamic tribe from the North of Africa.
Nuestra Señora de la Consolación
church, is based on Late Gothic style. It was built at the beginings
of 16th Century, it is considered as one of the most important temples of the
province due to its style.
It is also noteworthy the barroque Cristo
del Humilladero Church and the Mudejar Merced
Church.
Returning to N-432 we make a stopover in Berlanga, an old Roman
settlement on the way that united Mérida and Córdoba
The so called "Las Quinientas" Natural
Park of Berlanga let the visitor to contemplate lots of aquatic
birds who live in the lake and the channels that form this natural space.

Different routes in the park let us to discover its rich flora
and fauna, deers and fallow deers
( they are protected by a cinegetic fence), as well as other native species
of the area. And what is more, there is a small zoo with exotic species.
