Spring is one of the best seasons to visit Extremadura, the Cherry Tree blossoming feast attracks thousands of people from all over Europe. The second two weeks of March white flowers of the cherry trees cover the whole Valley of Jerte turning out a spectacular sight.
Another outstanding area is the National Park of Monfragüe, right in the heart of Caceres province birdwatching lovers can not miss this place.
The park is the perfect place for birdwatching, but it is not the only one, more than 3o important special protection zones for birds prove this is a special place where imperial eagles, golden eagles, bonelli's eagles, black and tawny vultures, egyptian vultures, kites, black storks and white storks inhabit.
Note: Those zones are called ZEPA (Zona de Especial Proteccion de Aves) and are located in Natura 2000 places.

From the very begining of the time people have left their marks, prehistoric people, Romans, Visigoths, Arabs or christians are some of the civilizations that have settled down in Extremadura. All these marks and remains belong to the rich heritage Extremadura has.
